The Insomnia Severity Index has seven questions. The seven answers are added up to get a total score. When you haveyour total score, look at the ‘Guidelines for Scoring/Interpretation’ below to see where your sleep difficulty fits.

No clinically significant insomnia
Score between 0 and 7, you don’t need to worry. You have a very strong sleep structure, most likely with good sleep hygiene. Great Job! If you need someone to talk to, ask for a specialist here.
Subthreshold insomnia
Score between 8 and 14, you are still under the threshold and you cannot be considered as insomniac. However, your sleep can be affected by your daily life, stress, etc. It may be worth looking into to ways to handle these issues before they affect your sleep more severely. Clinical insomnia (moderate severity)
Score between 15 and 21, you present the symptoms of clinic insomnia (moderate or severe). The score suggests the presence of signs of clinical insomnia and it is recommended to receive specialized help. It’s time to take action. If you need someone to talk to, ask for a specialist here.
Clinical insomnia (severe)
Score between 22 and 28, you present the symptoms of clinic insomnia (severe).The score suggests the presence of signs of severe clinical insomnia and it is recommended to receive specialized help.We recommend that you consult a doctor.If you need someone to talk to, ask for a specialist here.
